X counts most non-Latin characters (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, emoji) as 2 and every link as 23. The X number here follows that rule and is an approximation.

About this tool

Write once, post everywhere, and find out before you hit publish which platform will cut you off. The counter checks a single draft against five platforms side by side and follows the X rule that counts every link as 23 characters and most non-Latin characters as 2.

How to use

  1. Paste or type your post into the text box.
  2. Read the used and remaining characters for each platform.
  3. Trim the post until every platform you plan to use shows "Fits".

FAQ

Why does X show a higher number than the other platforms?

X weights characters. Latin letters and basic punctuation count as 1, while Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and emoji count as 2, and every link counts as 23 no matter how long it is. Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Instagram count the characters you see.

What are the limits used here?

X 280, Threads 500, Bluesky 300, LinkedIn 3,000 for a post, and Instagram 2,200 for a caption. Paid X accounts can post longer, and platforms change their limits, so check the official help page if a number matters for you.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Counting happens in your browser and nothing is stored or uploaded.
